Lots of great input from our Student Ambassadors at our first meeting

Tuesday 26th April saw us host our very first student Ambassadors meeting here at UTC HQ.

Attended by 12 future UTC Warrington students in total we had 3 future Year 10 students and 9 future Year 12 students join us to have their say on the plans for their college. Currently employed members of the team Steph Hutchinson, Mr Barber and Mr Backhouse were joined by Mrs Downing and Mrs Coates who will be starting with the college over the coming months throughout the session, giving the Ambassadors the opportunity to meet and talk at length with several members of teaching staff.

Topics covered on the day included tie and neck scarf designs, PE kit options, our mobile phone policy, a building and furniture update plus feedback on the events they have attended so far and how they would like to see them develop over time.

Everyone made really valuable contributions and came up with great ideas for our college and how they feel it should look and operate, from how we display notices and student work through to what the older students would like to see in their Sixth Form Common Room on the 4th floor.

The Student Ambassadors will be joining us again in June to share their ideas for enrichment opportunities, how we can engage with the local community once we are open, how we attract more female students into considering following a career into Engineering, future UTC events along and much, much more.

We would really like some additional future Year 10 students to join the team, so if you have applied for a Year 10 place with us this September, e-mail info@utcw.co.uk to register your interest in becoming a UTC Warrington Student Ambassador.
