The aims of our STEM-focused curriculum are to develop the technical knowledge, skills, confidence and understanding employers are looking for in their future workforce. Providing unique opportunities within Science, Engineering and Technology enables our young people to get ahead of the competition by developing the ‘character’ to succeed in their chosen career.

Each of our students embark on a learning journey at the UTC, whether they join in Key Stage 4 or Sixth Form. Students will work towards their aspirations of apprenticeship, employment or continued education goals, with a high quality mix of employer-led learning, project-based activities, personal development and good academic and technical education.

Learner Style

Staff have good and positive relationships with staff throughout the college. Our small and familiar community allows for us to support students in identifying their learning style and implementing direct and cohesive support to ensure they reach their potential.

Our Promise

University Technical Colleges specialise in an area of industry and provide students with the career-ready skills to enter the world of work. At UTCW, we work with a network of prominent employer and Higher Education partners to contextualise learning and provide a different approach to education. Below is our promise to our students.
