Our Construction pathway will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed for an exciting career in the Construction industry, such as building surveying, site management, and architecture. You will develop skills in design, analysis and evaluation across a wide range of Civil Engineering topics.

We also cover Business Information Modelling (BIM) – a technology-based process which uses cutting-edge techniques with industry standard software to provide you with a range of progressive skills that are in high demand in a wide range of careers. The BIM DesignEngineerConstruct!® (DEC) qualification is supported by organisations such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

For example, Lane End, a specialist company that sources land and delivers high quality developments across the North West invited our Construction students to visit Academy Street in Warrington town centre to see the real-life work of site managers, bricklayers, architects and engineers of the future.

At Post-16

At the UTC you can choose between a purely vocational pathway or a combination of BTEC and A Levels depending on whether you are focused on an apprenticeship or university . We work with you to decide which is the best option for you.

Vocational: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Civil Engineering (= 3 A Levels) + BIM DesignEngineerConstruct!® (DEC) qualification (= 1 A Level)

Combined: Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering
(= 2 A Levels) + complimentary A Levels + BIM DesignEngineerConstruct!® (DEC) qualification (= 1 A Level)
