UTC Warrington is an inspiring and professional learning environment that gives young people the technical skills, expert understanding and personal aptitude and qualities they need for successful careers.
At UTC Warrington, we are dedicated to empowering young minds aged 14-19 with a cutting-edge technical education. Our core mission is to prepare students for a world of opportunities by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and experiences needed for success in the realms of science, technology, and engineering.
As a purpose-built institution located in Cheshire and Warrington, we focus on bridging the gap between education and the world of work. We are committed to nurturing practical skills, fostering industry connections, and guiding students towards meaningful careers in the ever-evolving landscape of STEM. Through direct engagement with regional employers, our students gain first-hand insights into the demands of the professional arena. This empowers them to forge invaluable relationships and embark on journeys of growth and achievement, not just within the Northwest, but also far beyond.
At UTC Warrington, we shape futures by equipping our students with the tools they need to thrive in a dynamic world, making a lasting impact in their chosen fields and beyond.
UTC Warrington envisions itself as a pioneering hub for technical education, distinguished by our unyielding dedication to excellence and innovation. Our ambition is to cultivate a vibrant learning community that nurtures curiosity, cultivates a robust work ethic, and instils unshakable confidence in our students’ capabilities. By embracing emerging technologies and industry trends, we are steadfast in our mission to furnish students with the skills and experiences vital for propelling them toward remarkable destinations, where their impact on the world becomes enduring.
Guided by our core values, we foster an environment where:
Attitude prevails: We are proactive and professional.
Belief drives us: We pursue excellence and equity.
Commitment fuels success: We foster growth and achievement for all.
With this steadfast commitment to attitude, belief, and commitment, we equip our students for exceptional educational journeys and successful career destinations. At UTC Warrington, we pave the way for a transformative future.
UTC Warrington is designed to reflect a business environment. This is embedded throughout all aspects of the college from the curriculum and 9.00am – 4.30pm working day through to technical projects and enrichment activities.
Students can track the development of their softer skills through the 8 elements of the Skillsbuilder Universal framework; Listening, Speaking, Problem Solving, Creativity, Staying Positive, Aiming High, Leadership and Teamwork. The Skillsbuilder Universal framework is embedded throughout all aspects of college life to support our students in developing essential personal attributes for employability and life.
When students demonstrate exceptional examples of one or more of the Skillsbuilder attributes they will be rewarded with Skillsbuilder achievement points. The points accrued are totalled up at the end of each term and students who have been most successful in accumulating tokens in each aspect of the framework are recognised and rewarded for their efforts.
We celebrate the work of our students regularly and give praise to those who go above and beyond in our environment. We are proud of our relationships with parents & carers and we firmly believe that a strong relationship between the UTC, students and families is fundamental to driving our success. Therefore, if students require support or guidance, our staff team are more than happy to identify strategies and plans to ensure they reach their full potential.
To achieve good engagement, positive perspectives and subsequent success, we reinforce the values of professional conduct through clear routines and consistent boundaries. Our approach to behaviour reflects the world of work, with verbal and written warnings for behaviour that does not meet the appropriate standard. Ofsted inspectors found that the UTC’s behaviour policy works well and that ” pupils’ behaviour is good and that the college is calm and hard working.”
