We know that Year 11 pupils have been working hard to get the best grades they can in their GCSEs at school to secure a college place at the highest level possible. The process of how those grades will be awarded is yet to be fully configured, however, we would like to reassure you that we will be looking beyond the awarded grades.
Therefore, no one will be disadvantaged, and all applicants will have a place to study at UTC Warrington in September 2020.
Once the GCSE grades are awarded, we will work with students and parents/carers to ensure they are on the right course at the right level. Where students may have missed the level of course they applied for, we will consider predicted grades, discussions with a student’s previous school and review the progress made during the initial weeks at the UTC.
This will ensure that all students are on the right course.
If you haven’t already attended a 1-1 meeting, please do not worry. Our team will be in touch when it is appropriate and safe to do so. This is likely to be via telephone, however, we will write to you with details of enrolment at a later and more suitable date.
UTC Warrington will ensure you are kept up to date over the coming months and we are committed to ensuring the transition to studying here is seamless.
